There is hope for your family.

It might be hard to imagine right now, but with patience and commitment, your family can make real progress and begin healing together.

I believe that all families deserve happiness, and in my professional experience as a family therapist, I have encountered many who feel that their unique situation is beyond help. With the right tools and an openness to change, your family can overcome the hopelessness of behavioral issues, communication struggles, and tension in your home.

While every family faces unique challenges, nearly all cases of turbulence between parents and children stem from a place of pain. No matter where that pain originated, it can manifest as behavioral issues for children and teens, often provoking ineffective methods of discipline by parents.

Tragic things happen to children every day, but with the support and assistance of a caring adult, they can begin to heal. Parents also experience pain, but when they consciously choose to provide a more humane and compassionate way of parenting, they are taking an important step toward healing the pain that plagues their family.

As a Long Beach family therapist, I meet countless parents hoping to learn new strategies and change their parenting for the better.

As a parent, I know how hard it is to change your own behavior and try new things, but this willingness is a crucial first step toward a happier home!

We have come a long way from “children should be seen and not heard”, but parents still need tools and support to strike that healthy balance of kind and firm parenting.

If you’re not sure whether your parenting style is too strict or too lenient, but you’re open to feedback and willing to change your own behaviors if necessary, then you’re ready to take the next step!
